Nov. 10 2014 Group Meeting

i) DS alphas: now can access data, plenty to do
ii) APDs: prepare for 2nd APD on Monday when Jacopo is back
iii) 2x 1mm2 SiPMs from FBK w/ ceramic support; will bond at UMass

Group meeting – Sept. 22, 2014

Agenda:

1) Alissa:  work on DS50 at LNGS and UMass  (data validation, etc)
2) Kirsten: REU at NASA, work on a CMB satellite
3) Dan: REU at Idaho Lab, work on novel scintillators

4) compile time commitment calendar in the lab (all!)
5) discuss laboratory activities and priorities

March 31 group meeting

Agenda:

  • APD cool down tests (Tim, Jasmine)
    –> move control thermocouple to APD platter
  • APD data readout:  Chris could help Molly
    –> readout with LabVIEW on Kelly’s machine
  • Room temperature noise + signal “on the scope”, HV on APD  (see Cam’s thesis).  Coordinate with Tim on fixing thermocouple.  Refer to Al/Charlie memo on elog.  (Jasmine, KK, Tim)
  • Document *paper* folder on certain papers (Chris)
  • Xe purification plumbing (Tim, Sereres, Dan)
    –> connection between manifold and cryostat (Dan)
    –> LN2 recovery dewars mechanism (is half-way ok with burst disks? 1910 psig)
  • Kurie plots (Sereres), Excited states (Sereres)
  • Source position:
    –> compare run 2991 with S5 from “standard” analysis, with error
    –> do a few other S5 runs
  • Analysis team plans (Sereres, Javier, Owen, Sara, Andrea)

March 10 group meeting

To-do:

Xe system
– complete plumbing and start pump out

APDs
– picture-show update of the system with updates
– do we need to replace the “old, bug” heater?
– immediate goal: cool down and measure heat load and base temp/stability.
– data readout (Molly, Tim, KK, Jasmine)

Excited states:
– look at Ruey’s work:  present a summary?
– prepare APS talk (Apr 4 – slides by Mar 27)

Majoron:
– for n=5, Kurie-fit on simulated 2nbb and see how well it points to endpoint (do spectral shapes agree?)
