Dr. Qian Yu and recent UMass geography graduate Dr. Weining Zhu recently published two papers in top remote sensing journals, Remote Sensing of Environment and ISPRS Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. They developed a semi-analytical method to retrieve colored dissolved organic matter from hyper spectral remote sensing and mapped the CDOM in global major rivers. The work provides the first high resolution and large scale CDOM monitoring in global major estuaries.
