About Team Chicken

Team Poultry is working toward solutions for antibiotic resistance by using bacteriocins to target C.perfringens, a pathogen responsible for Necrotic Enteritis. Necrotic Enteritis is a disease that plagues the poultry industry, causing over 6 billion in losses each year globally, as it becomes more resistant to antimicrobial treatment. Our goal is to discover, identify, and bring to scalable production a bacteriocin treatment that kills C. perfringens to support farmers in the poultry industry, and save lives of chickens impacted by the disease.
