About Tyler
Hi there! I am a junior biology major and a member of the Commonwealth Honors College here at UMass. I enjoy my work on Team Suture, where we are continuing to gather data for nisin-coated sutures, which is a fantastic and very relevant application of nisin. While I am still figuring out my professional aspirations, I appreciate the variety of learning experiences, training, and social aspects of the Riley Lab. It’s wonderful to hear about the progress our different research teams have made recently, and the job offers and career paths that our graduating seniors will be moving to next year. My favorite bacteria is Lactococcus lactis, because it created nisin!
