Professor Margaret Riley

Recognized internationally for her research on bacteriocins, she has authored over 90 peer-reviewed papers on bacteriocins and 3 edited books, making her one of the field’s most prolific contributors.

Professor Riley provides consulting services in several areas:

  • Expert witness: She has experience as an expert witness in cases involving antimicrobial drug development and antimicrobial resistance.
  • New company development: She has experience in developing a research portfolio in the areas of bacteriocin discovery, development, and application in the fields of agriculture and human/animal health. She has helped to create 7 companies over the past 15 years.
  • Bacteriocin discovery/development consulting. She has extensive experience working with established companies on the incorporation of bacteriocins into their drug candidate portfolios. Examples include companies tackling citrus greening in the US., mastitis in cows in Beijing, China, and neonatal pneumonia in Bangalore, India.
  • Chief Scientific Officer. She currently serves as the CSO of Organicin Scientific.
