About Leah
Hi! My name is Leah and I am a member of Team Enteric focusing on E. coli infections. Moreover, I am a co-lead for Team CURE, supporting our first semester researchers as they delve into the Riley Lab work. I am a biochemistry major, but I am very interested in the microbial world and how it affects us. In the future, I would love to continue research in drug discovery, possibly even with bacteriocins. My favorite bacteria is Vibrio fischeri because it is bioluminescent. It is found in symbiosis with the Hawaiian bobtail squid and allows it to camouflage from predators at night by blending in with the moonlight.
