Supported by the Hokkaido-UMass collaborative seed fund, we hosted Prof. Toshiro Ohashi and Assistant Professor Ryota Toyohara’s visit to UMass on May 8th and 9th. Thanks for the insightful conversations and seminar talks, and look forward to future collaborations.
Together with Dr. Yoshiho Ikeuchi (The University of Tokyo), Dr. Feng Guo (IU), Dr. Insoo Hyun (Museum of Science/Harvard Medical School), Dr. Guo-li Ming (UPenn), and Dr. Jianping Fu (UMich), we thoroughly reviewed current limitations of neural organoids and how bioengineering innovation can improve neural organoid research [link for download]. We have received a NSF grant, in collaboration with Dr. Jun Yao, and are part of a NIH Trailblazer Award to Dr. Guangyu Xu. Those grant will support our research in exploring novel bioelectrical interfaces with patterned brain organoids. Look forward to the collaborations.
