Multiple Intelligence

I like to start every school year by giving my students a Multiple Intelligence Test. It is based on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligence. The link below explains more about the theory.

I like to to start off the year in this fashion to show my students that they are all smart, they just learn best in different ways. I also like to look at the results so I can inform my lessons to try and reach all learners through most of the intelligence methods.

Flowers

Students dissected flowers  and labeled the different parts of a flower as they learned about pollination and the collapse of bee colonies.

Boat Races!

Students learned how to move a cardboard boat in the water by using soap. They tested the best areas on the boat to place the soap so the boat would travel faster through the water. Students then raced each other to determine who constructed the fastest boat.
