Final Exam – Friday, December 18
4:00 – 6:30 PM Thompson Hall 102/104
Cumulative exam, 41 questions (each question is worth 3.0000000 points for a total of 120 points. so one Q could lead to bonus points)
The exam was scaled by adding 6 points to every exam, as two questions were a little weird. Absolutely correct, mind you, but they tested weirdly. So the resulting exam average was 82.3 points (27.4 Q correct).
Practice exam (From Prof. Adams, 2008)
For extraordinary reasons, I can offer a final exam at a time other than the normal time – contact me ASAP for more information. But please make sure that your reason is a good one (see the Univ. Exam. Policy).
Wednesday Final Exam Review Session 6:30 PM, ISB 135
Thursday: Extra Review Session 6:00 PM ISB 135
Jason,
They are definitely just extra credit.
Do we just take the exam in either room (102 or 104)? Does it matter which one we go to?
Professor Knapp,
Are the blog points extra credit or are they factored in to our grade? It seems as though they are factored in and without full credit we would lose points, but that may not be true.
Hey I was just wondering when you are going to change the owl homework due dates just so we can see what our homework grade will be when the grace period is taken into account. Thank you.
I was wondering if you were going to post our grades for the final and our OWLs grades in the OWL gradebook before we can see them on Spire Jan. 4th, so that way we could see where all of our points came from.
It is 6:00 – 7:00 tonite, ISB135. Really.
Sorry about last night – I had announced a 6pm start, but ha the reservation (and the Blog notice) for 6:30. So I kept to the 6:30 start time.
Taylor,
its supposed to be 41×3 which is 123.
and like he said there is one question that will be extra..so it would be 120.
Professor,
Will the review session tomorrow be at 6 or 6:30? You had posted above that the session tonight would be at 6 but it didn’t begin until 6:30, so I was just wondering what time to show up tomorrow. And is the review session tomorrow also in our classroom lecture hall?
41 X 4 does not equal 120….
I am taking chem 112 next semester and I was wondering if we will need the same textbook we used for 111 or if I will need to purchase a new one.
Where is the final exam make-up going to be?
When are the other times the exam is being offered?
Would you say the practice final is a good representation of what we should expect for our final?
Are there any specific chapters we should focus on for the Final, possible ones that will be most emphasized?
Prof
For those of us who signed up for the make-up how do we know thats its confirmed that we are taking it on thursday
what will be provided on the test
What will be provided on the test?
How close to the practice exam, will the actual exam be?
Hi Ross,
The equation for E = h(nu) = hc/(lambda) will be provided.
We were going through the 2008 final exam, and we found out that some of the equations required to find the answers were not on the “useful information” sheet provided with the exam. For an example, the equation needed for question #23, the energy of light. Yet, it is said on the blog that all the neccessary equations will be provided. But, does this mean that we still have to memorize all the equations?
Professor,
I was wondering which room our exam will be in? 102 or 104? Or will we just find out when we get there? Thank you!
Hey Ruby,
There are 3 review sessions.
Tuesday:4-5
Wednesday:6-7
Thursday:6-7
The tuesday and wednesdays ones will be done by the professor and thursday will be done by Nag.
All of them are also in ISB the room we have class in!
What day is the review session on?
