Population Served:
- Adults with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities living in 24-hour staffed group homes.
- Adults with mild or moderate intellectual disabilities living independently in community-based apartments.
- Some adults have co-occurring mental health disorders or medical conditions.

General job description of what an intern might do (specific descriptions are negotiated on a case-by-case basis):
- Observe direct care staff as they help individuals with household chores, recreational activities, money management, medical and psychiatric appointments, and other activities of daily living
- Assist Clinical Director with a special project. Examples of past projects: design an assessment tool for individuals with Alzheimer’s, assist individual with completing autobiography, compile satisfaction survey results
- Assist a case manager with ISP preparation and documentation
Your availability:
Most intern hours are scheduled between 4-9 pm on weeknights or on weekend days. Additional hours are scheduled during the weekday for specific training opportunities. Supervisions with the Clinical Director are scheduled on weekdays.
