Varies, Springfield area. Position is an outreach position, meaning workers drive to clients and often transport them around. Position requires a vehicle.

General Description of What an Intern Might Do:

Therapeutic Mentoring offers structured, one-to-one, strength-based support services between a therapeutic mentor and a youth for the purpose of addressing daily living, social, and communication needs. Therapeutic Mentoring services include supporting, coaching, and training the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children and adolescents, as well as adults, in recreational and social activities pursuant to a behavioral health treatment plan.
Mentors will often take clients out into the community.

Mentors will work alongside a client’s therapeutic team, consisting of roles such as outpatient therapists, psychiatrists, in-home behavioral clinicians, in-home therapy clinicians.

Your Availability:

Times often align with school times. Meetings happen typically anywhere from 2pm-8pm depending on the school and family’s needs.
