About the organization:
Brain Balance is a non-medical, brain-based approach that uses sensory, motor, visual, cognitive, and academic activities with healthy nutrition to address challenges in children struggling behaviorally, academically, or socially. The carefully structured and coordinated combination of program elements helps establish proper brain and body function leading to a reduction or elimination of negative symptoms and behavior, and plays an important role in improving a child’s ability to learn and behave at an age-appropriate level.
Populations served:
Children and adolescents ages 4-17 with neurodevelopmental disorders. Specific diagnoses include ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, and Processing disorders

Accessible by Public Transportation?
Yes, but public transportation would be a long commute. Private transportation preferred.
General job description of what an intern might do:
– Support children and coaches through various sensory, motor, visual, cognitive, and academic activities
– Assist directors in program related needs
– Read files of current students to gain an understanding of what their struggles are, and what interventions they have tried in the past
– Maintain positive relationships will all children and families
Type of professionals you will work with/observe:
– M.Ed.
– LSW
– D.C.
– M.S. in Child & Adolescent Psychology
– B.A. or B.S. majors: Psychology, Kinesiology, Movement Science, Juvenile Justice & Youth Advocacy
Your availability: Available hours are Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3:00 – 7:30 PM. Internships can range from 1 to 3 afternoons per week.
