General job description of what an intern might do:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Assisting College Steps students with goal attainment related to College Steps four pillars of support: academic, social, pre-employment, and independent living skills goals.

o   Developing and utilizing organization, time management, study skills, test-taking skills, and development of social skills;

o   Guiding students in accessing campus resources such as the library, Writing Center, and Career Center;

o   Accompanying College Steps students to class (with instructor approval) to provide appropriate supports, including communication between College Steps students, faculty, and other college students;

o   Modeling appropriate social engagement and classroom behavior.

·       Completing daily written documentation for each student session.

·       Assisting College Steps Program Coordinator with scheduling and program/curriculum planning.

·       Accompanying College Steps Program Coordinator to recruitment events, transition fairs, and/or meetings with various stakeholders on and off campus.

·       Maintaining confidentiality of student information.

Your availability:

variety of hours Monday-Friday between 9am-3pm
