General job description of what an intern might do:

A variety of groups and activities are available at the center, all designed to target specific needs and interest. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are available onsite. The goal of the Enrichment Center is to provide a fulfilling experience for the participants and to enhance their quality of life as they continue the process of rehabilitation and community reintegration. At the EC, interns would be able to engage with clients directly in therapeutic activities. One of the most exciting is a computer program called “Brain Train” which not only helps “train” the brain, but also provides assessments on categories such as “visual attention”. Interns also would be offered the opportunity to design and implement their own psychoeducational groups. As the clients receive Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy there, the interns would be able to observe and see the benefits of these treatments. If an intern had an interest in learning more about the documentation our Clinicians are involved with, they might be engaged helping us review flagged shift notes, write psychotropic medication treatment plans, and compile data regarding tracked behaviors. They also might be able to observe some clinical meetings and hear case presentations.
