This six session group will  focus on common sexual issues for women including dissatisfaction, loss of sexual interest and difficulty discussing sexual needs or desires. Together, we will explore how our histories inform how we behave sexually in the present. This group aims to empower women to explore their sexuality and empower yourself in your sexual relationships.

Where’s Love 101: Creating and Sustaining Healthy relationships

On Wednesday, February 10th, 2010, the Women of Color Leadership Network, Everywoman’s Center, the Stonewall Center, Student Legal Services Office and the Graduate Women’s Network present the 4th Annual WHERE’S LOVE 101?  This event will be held in campus center room 917 at 7:00. It is free, open to the public and wheelchair accessible.

This unique gathering will feature a diverse panel of couples who have been together for between 2 and 20 years, as well as experts who will address a broad range of issues related to creating and sustaining healthy relationships.

Topics will include:

• Physical health, values, drugs and alcohol, fidelity expectations, sex……
• Money, resolving conflict, race, class, gender, religion……
• Meeting each other’s family…..your self-esteem……
• Staying together in a transitory environment……..
• When is it better to choose to be on your own?

Come with your partner, friend, or by yourself! With refreshments and door prizes this promises to be a lively, informative and fun evening!

Finding Safety in Your Body

Therapeutic yoga and movement group for women who have experienced harm. In this 6 week group we will explore movement exercises to help you connect with your body, promote relaxation, empowerment, self-acceptance, personal expression and balance.  Come and create peace in your mind, body and spirit in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment.

Group open to women who have experienced harm. No yoga or movement experience required!

Workshop: Creative Movement and Self Expression

CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND SELF EXPRESSION

An Ongoing Workshop for Women

Workshop sponsored by GSS Graduate Women’s Network and Everywoman’s Center Counseling Services

This workshop set as its goal self-empowerment through structured exercises, group games and movement improvisations. We meet every Saturday to do exercises and games, which emphasize rhythm and connection, and we conclude each session with a composition of individual or group actions. Participants are encouraged to use the opportunity to explore body expression and awakening of energy and creative impulses.

Free admission. All women students are welcome. Women of color and GLBTQ students are encouraged to participate. No previous dance or theater experience required. Remember to come in comfortable clothes so that you can stretch and roll.

Dora Arreola is Artistic Director and founder of Mujeres en Ritual Dance Theatre Company, based in México. She has more than twenty years of experience as movevment resercher, teacher and dance-theater artist.  Arreola has studied and worked with internationally prominent artists, including Jerzy Grotowski, Susan Rethorst, Katsura Kan, and Ludwick Margules.  Her teaching and artistic work emphasizes fusion and choreography as a creative process, developing interdisciplinary work through multiple cultures, languages and aesthetic forms.
