Meaghan L. Richmond – Patent Attorney, Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals

The details….

Meaghan L. Richmond, Ph.D. is a Patent Attorney at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals located in Waltham, MA.  After trying several majors at different universities, she graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1998.  Meaghan completed her graduate work in organic chemistry with Professor Chris Seto at Brown University in Providence, RI, where she synthesized amino acid-based catalysts that mediated enantiomeric carbon-carbon bond formation.  She graduated from Brown with her Ph.D. in 2004 and began working as a Technical Specialist at a boutique patent law firm, Lahive & Cockfield, while attending Suffolk Law School (2005-2009).  Meaghan graduated from Suffolk in 2009 and passed the Massachusetts bar that same year.  After continuing her career in private practice at McCarter & English, Meaghan became an in-house patent counsel at AstraZeneca in 2011.
