The Scribe

The Scribe is a literary and arts publication sponsored by the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  As part of our mission to showcase the enourmous talents of the UMass undergraduate community, The Scribe publishes a collection of our favorite submissions every semester. We feature art, photography, writing, music—anything our contributors have to share. The Fall editions are online, and our Spring editions are released exclusively on print.

Disclaimer: The Scribe features original student work with the goal of highlighting the creativity of students from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Scribe is an open venue for students to share their work freely, and some of the contents may contain controversial opinions or strong language. The works published in this magazine do not necessarily represent the beliefs of the university nor the College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

CONTENT WARNING: Some of the contents of the Fall 2025 Edition may contain strong language, mentions of violence, alcohol, and sexual themes.

All work submitted to The Scribe is also eligible for submission in the HFA SLG Student Creative Showcase! This is a one-day event that takes place each spring. You can find more information about them at their instagram: umass.showcase
