High Rate Additive Manufacturing for Functional Films and Devices
Project Summary:
We develop additive manufacturing (AM) approaches in which inorganic, polymer and hybrid materials are formulated, deposited and in some cases patterned or structured at the micro/nanoscale. Procedures are developed to meet demanding performance requirements for DOD applications at low cost. The technologies are proven in the lab and then transitioned to pilot-scale manufacturing in UMass Amherst’s Cold Spray, Plasma Assisted AM, 3-D Printing, and Large- Area Print and Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing Demonstration Facilities.
