Project Summary:

The open-access Advanced Optics Manufacturing and Characterization Facility is funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through the MassTech Collaborative to enable the additive manufacturing and characterization of metasurfaces, metalenses, diffractive optical elements and other devices for R&D and production optimization. The facility, which is unique in the U.S., includes an automated full wafer scale imprinting tool and a full wafer scale atomic layer deposition tool as well as an array of optical benches test equipment. Electro Magnetic Application Inc. is collaborating with this project to test optical devices at extreme conditions that simulate high-energy use cases such as space applications.
