About Me

I am a PhD candidate in Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My research is primarily on the syntax, semantics, and morphology of Native American languages. I do research and fieldwork on Mvskoke (Creek), Koasati, and Chickasaw – all of which are Muskogean languages indigenous to the Southeastern United States. Before attending UMass Amherst, I received an MA in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to theoretical research on under-studied languages of America, I am committed to assisting these language communities in documentation and revitalization efforts. My research adopts a community-based language research model and supports language preservation.
