*Unlike the remainder of the lines obtained during this project, this line was characterized as E9.5 present/E15.5 absent by the phenotyping center and a KO line had already been reported in the literature . The phenotyping center and the previous publication stated that mutants were observed at the expected mendelian frequency at E12.5.

A single resorbing Mab21l2-/- was recovered at E9.5 and we did not proceed further with this line.
Whole mount in situ hybridization revealed that Mab21l2 displays specific expression in WT E8.5 and 9.5 embryos. At E8.5 Mab21l2 is expressed the midbrain and in the mesenchyme under the developing heart. By E9.5 Mab21l2 is expressed in the midbrain, optic cup and branchial arches. Expression is observed in the proepicardium, epicardium, septum transverse mesenchyme and other mesenchyme.
Sectioned in situ hybridization of WT E9.5-10.5 placentas demonstrates that Mab21l2 does not display any convincing expression in the placenta.
