Psychotherapy is an effective tool that helps people make changes in their lives by decreasing feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that get in their way. Psychotherapy can lead to greater self-understanding and acceptance, teach skills for coping, communicating, and self-control, lead to improved relationships, and reduce anxiety and depression.
I work with children of all ages, adolescents, and adults in the mode best suited to the individual or family’s needs. When working with children, I also work intensively with parents, either through parent guidance or in joint sessions with the child, to help them gain understanding and learn helpful parenting techniques.
My work with children specializes in youth who have experienced foster care, adoption, disabilities, school problems, divorce, and/or trauma.
A Home Within
I serve as the Clinical Director of the Western MA chapter of A Home Within, a national non-profit devoted to providing pro bono therapy to foster care youth and alumni. A Home Within recruits private practice therapists to work long-term with children and adults and provides them consultation and training to increase their expertise.
