Housing
During registration, attendees wishing to stay on-campus during the Institute will have the option of purchasing housing at the North Apartments. There are 4 North Apartment buildings: North A, North B, North C and North D. All four buildings are located less than a minutes walk apart on Eastman Lane in Amherst.
The North Apartments, located in the North Residential Area of campus, are air-conditioned suites within a 10-15 minute walk of most institute activities (view a campus map). Each apartment-style suite accommodates four guests in four single-occupancy bedrooms. The lockable bedrooms are furnished with a twin bed, desk, chair, and dresser. In addition to a private bedroom, guests will enjoy a common area, kitchen, and two full bathrooms shared with the three other guests in the apartment. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and stove-top oven, but cutlery, cookware, and dishware is not provided. Toiletries are not included either so guests should bring their own shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap (note toilet paper is provided). Guests may reserve a linen pack containing two flat sheets, a pillow with case, a blanket, and two towels for $15.45/pack.
The Institute has secured North lodging for June 18th through July 15th. We are unable to guarantee accommodations for guests wishing to stay outside of the dates listed below, but to inquire about availability outside of these dates, please contact UMass Conference Services at registration@umass.edu.

Guests who select to stay in North will be assigned to share an apartment with other LSA Institute attendees. Guests may provide any specific suitemate requests, accessibility needs, aids, and/or services below. If no specific suitemate requests are received guests will be assigned to share an apartment with other Institute attendees based on dates of stay and provided gender.
Specific building assignments and detailed arrival instructions, including check-in and check-out times, will be sent to registered guests as the Institute approaches. For travel purposes, check-in is typically available after 2PM on your date of arrival and check-out is often by 11AM on your date of departure, but note these times have not yet been finalized.

2 Week Lodging – $803.40/person
- Session 1 This option includes a bedroom in a North Apartment, checking-in June 18th, 2023 and checking-out July 1st, 2023.
- Session 2 This option includes a bedroom in a North Apartment, checking-in July 2nd, 2023 and checking-out July 15th, 2023.
Optional Linen Package – $15.45/set
Includes two flat sheets, two towels, a pillow and pillow case, and a thin blanket.
Meal Plans
During registration, you will have the option of purchasing a UMass Dining meal plan for your stay on UMass’ campus. We will offer 4-week and 2-week meal plan options as well as a lunch only option.

2 Week Meal Plan – $579.15/person
- Session 1 Includes all meals from dinner June 18th, 2023 through breakfast July 1st, 2023.
