During the last semester, Anastasia and Yasu helped the Amherst Middle School science club students, who wanted to find the best way for cafeteria workers to handle apples. Currently, the cafeteria workers are required to follow a time-consuming protocol, but the students questioned if it is the best way. Their experiments led them to propose that a simpler method is more effective in keeping bacterial counts on apples low. Click here for more information.
