Doctoral student and PAHL member, Rob Marcotte, was awarded the NEACSM Linda Pescatello Dissertation Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a New England Chapter of American College of Sports Medicine (NEACSM) doctoral student member based on academic and professional merit. Rob Marcotte presented his dissertation at the NEACSM Virtual Fall Meeting ceremony on developing a scalable and convenient method to estimate the relative intensity of physical activities using wearable activity trackers (i.e. accelerometers), and evaluating the method’s validity under naturalistic, free living environments.
