This week, you explored the different levels of participation in PLN spaces. You examined your own participation in two online spaces and provided support and encouragement to other participants. You read about the importance of contributing to your PLN (e.g., sharing ideas, responding to posts) and learned how your online interactions influence your digital reputation. Now, it’s time to take everything you learned and try it out in one final activity for the week.
Learning Activity: Expanding Your Level of Participation
Activity Objective: Engage with your PLN and course participants in new ways.
Activity Instructions: For this activity, try out two levels of participation that will allow you to engage with others in new ways.
- Penguin: React to your peers’ posts by liking, up/down voting, or retweeting.
- Fox: Ask a question (that helps you meet your professional goals) in an online space.
- Tiger: Share your expertise by replying to a request for help in an online space. OR, write a post, tweet, or blog to share ideas and insights about teaching. Bonus: Invite your peers to comment on it and have a mindful discussion.
Once you have completed this activity, reflect on your experience and write a short post on 4399edn tute team.
