We present results for the dynamic structure factor of Helium-4 in the superfluid phase, obtaining by inverting imaginary time density-density correlation data from Quantum Monte Carlo simulation. We adopt the “classic” MaxEnt approach, coupled with a random walk in parameter space, with the aim of obtaining accurate image and also develop a consistent framework that allows one to quantify the uncertainty in the height and position of sharp spectral features. We show that, contrary to what stated in recent works, MaxEnt can and does reproduce sharp sectral features, if they are warranted by the precision of the underlying data, while removing spurious structure can tends to arise due to the ill-posedness of the problem.
