Be a Democracy Fellow – the time is definitely now! Deadline, March 11.

FairVote’s Democracy Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for those with an interest in election reform to work on substantive projects while building valuable skills and networking with others in the field. Fellows will be assigned projects to manage throughout their tenures, and will also assist with the supervision of FairVote interns. They will be exposed to the broad workings of FairVote, ranging from research, communications and advocacy, to building websites, blogging, and representing FairVote in coalition meetings and on Capitol Hill.

The positions are paid, with healthcare benefits and a stipend for commuting expenses. Fellows will be given opportunities to build their skills and knowledge base both through on-the-job training and opportunities to attend workshops and seminars. Nearly every graduate of FairVote’s Fellowship Program has either continued at FairVote as a full-time staff member, begun work at another public interest organization, or attended graduate school.

Quaker Voluntary Service – One-year Fellowship – Deadline March 15

Quaker Voluntary Service is an 11-month experiment, living at the intersection of transformational spirituality and activism. Young adults work full-time in professional positions at community based organizations addressing a wide range of issues, while living in a cooperative house and worshiping with, and being mentored by, local Quakers. They receive housing, transportation, food, support for health and wellness (including access to health insurance if needed), and a small stipend, while engaging in regular self-led workshops and retreats that allow for continuing education in social justice, faith, and community building topics. Challengchallenge detroite Detroit is a leadership and professional development program that invites approximately 30 of tomorrow’s leaders to live, work, play, give, and lead in and around the greater Detroit area for one year.

Challenges are the heart of our program. In partnership with area non-profits, the challenges are designed to positively impact the city and region. Every Friday, participants will work in teams organized to generate innovative and impactful solutions to pressing needs faced by our partner non-profit organizations.

Hilliard P. Jenkins Summer Fellowship – Deadline Feb. 26

Frontline Solutions is a one-of-a-kind consulting firm that provides convening design & facilitation, research & analysis, project management, and strategy advisement services to institutions working for the greater good.

FS designed the Hilliard P. Jenkins Fellowship for emerging leaders interested in the intersection of social justice, entrepreneurship, and consulting in the non-profit sector. The program is structured as a summer internship with supplemental professional development opportunities. HPJ Fellows are placed at one of Frontline’s two offices in Durham, NC and Philadelphia, PA. Fellows receive introductions to organizations in their base office and around the country, and also work on a variety of high-impact projects. Fellows are paid $15/hour.

Seniors:  Thinking about going into business? Want to make an impact? Venture for America’s final deadline is Feb. 1.

Venture for America is a fellowship program for recent grads who want to learn how to build a business while making an impact. VFA Fellows get training and join a startup in an emerging US city, where they live and work for two years at one of our hundreds of partner companies. They learn hands-on what it takes to build a company, while getting the mentorship, network, and ongoing support to prepare themselves to become successful entrepreneurs. Our goal is to spark job growth in cities that need it by sending our top talent to help grow the businesses that will make it happen.
