When becoming a UCAN volunteer we ask that you come to the information session as well as accepted volunteer meeting!
Yes, we did say accepted volunteers! One of UCAN’s goals is to make sure there is a safe and stable environment for the students in the Amherst School Systems. One part of that is applying to ensure that we have committed and dedicated volunteers. Weekly visits to the program of your choice is important as it allows the programs to run smooth and don’t forget the students miss you when you’re not there! It is also important that we cori check our volunteers to make sure we are creating a safe environment within the schools.
Other Opportunities with UCAN:
In addition to volunteering, there are also other ways to get involved. UCAN is always looking for individuals who want to take on leadership roles or who have an expertise in web design, graphic design, journalism or communications .
