Being a member of ALD is a great resume builder. Once you get involved within the chapter by attending events and possibly becoming a part of a leadership team, you can add even more value to your resume!
Scholarships & Fellowships
Each year, over $200,000 is awarded in scholarships to ALD members to help fund undergraduate education, study-abroad experiences, and graduate study.
- One of our UMass ALD members was nominated for a 2020 national ALD scholarship and was chosen to be a recipient!
- This Spring 2021 semester, our chapter launched its very first local ALD scholarship! We had 3 local scholarships to give to selected recipients.
Community Service
UMass Alpha Lamda Delta gives back to our campus and community through various service projects coordinated by our members.
Previous group community service events include:
- Participating in Challah for Hunger.
- Hosting a food drive for the Amherst Survival Center.
- Creating holiday cards for local nursing homes.

Being a member of Alpha Lambda Delta gives you the opportunity to meet other students committed to academic excellence, professional development, and community service.
At our General Body Meetings (GBMs) we participate in team bonding activities such as:
- Pumpkin painting.
- Creating academic resolutions after the new year.
- Card making for community service events.
- Making DIY stress balls using rice, socks, and essential oils.
- Enjoying local cuisine at GBMs from places in the Amherst area!
