The New York Times calls American Idiot “thrilling and emotionally charged, as moving as anything on Broadway!” Based on Green Day’s groundbreaking rock opera of the same name, this daring new musical tells the story of three lifelong friends forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia, and features the smash hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “Holiday,” and “21 Guns.”

  1. Great performance! I saw it on Broadway and loved seeing the traveling cast in Amherst. “21 Guns” was one of the highlights for me, but I also loved the beautiful rendition of “When Its Time” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”

  2. Love it, great cast! Phenomenal singers, every one of them. My favorite song was 21 Guns and Last Night on Earth. I would love to see more Broadway touring companies come through the Fine Arts Center. It was a great venue to see this type of show.

  3. While there are so many wonderful BW shows to choose from, it is very unfortunate that the only one this season is “American idiot”
    Shooting heroin on stage isn’t what we want our young people to see.
    After the sudden death of Philip Seymour Hoffman I hope that you will use better judgment in the future.

  4. Great show! We thought it was a really good production but would love to see some Broadway that is aimed more at all ages. How about Shrek, Mary Poppins, or Wicked!?
    We love the fact that we can attend a musical of this quality without leaving our area so please plan another Broadway event for next year!

    FAC used to have more off Broadway productions.
    Please bring them back. They are a major
    reason we have remained in the Valley.

  6. Loved everything about the show….no favorite songs. The set was great. Loved when they tipped the steps forward and turned it into a vehicle. Would definitely attend more shows now that I attended this one and saw how great it was.

  8. This show was great, and came at a great time for me and my 13-year old son. Unlike the comment above, I found that it offered us a great way to talk about Philip Seymour-Hoffman’s drug abuse and death in a way that went beyond “just say no.” Boulevard of Broken Dreams and 21 Guns blew me away. Would love to see more new musicals, and My son asked why you don’t bring hip-hop and breakdance/urban groups more often. We saw and loved the Canadian circus troupe last year. More of this edgy creativity would be great!
