This concert was stupendous! All three musicians are masterful at their art, both technically and spiritually. To someone who has enjoyed concerts of ragas in NYC and India, it is interesting how the “pieces” are shortened to accommodate Americans’ inability to sit through lengthy works. I was taken aback to see some folks walk out during Zakir’s solo – even if the music doesn’t move you at least his technical skill should blow one away.
Truly moving performance; sounds brought me to meditative relaxation.
Dear Ranjanaa,
I attended the fabulous concert of Indian Music. It is one of the most enjoyable performances that I have ever seen brought into the University Fine Arts Center.
It was very important to see such a variety of people present representing all walks of life. It was very excellent; I have not seen anything like it in many years.
Thank you, Ranjanaa, for such an outstanding contribution to the Fine Arts Center and the broader community. It will never be be forgotten.
With warmest regards,
Fred Tillis
