The Merchant of Venice

The world of this mercantile society was evoked by a  bronze toned abstract structure with multiple levels. In contrast to the cloudy overcast city, Belmont’s sunny skies showed windswept clouds.

A staircase to the basement of the stage, a permanent presence in the set, served as entrance and exit to Shylock’s ghetto household.
