2017 Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Research Congress

The 28th International Nursing Research Congress recently took place in Dublin, Ireland, with several representatives from the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Nursing in attendance.

Professor Linda Lewandowski contributed to a panel looking at the International Network of Doctoral Education in Nursing, and Assistant Professor Mary Paterno presented at a session on Perinatal Health, delivering a paper entitled “You’re Not Alone”: The Power of Peer Mentoring for Pregnant Women with Substance Use Disorder. Members of the faculty also gave a paper on Webinars and Weaving: An Innovative Model of Interprofessional Education in an Online DNP Program at a session on Interprofessional Education in Nursing Programs.

Representatives also presented posters: Assistant Professor Mary Ellen Burke contributed a poster entitled Unspoken: Decreasing Attitudes of Stigma Toward Obese Women by Healthcare Providers; DNP student Maria Theresa P. Panizales outlined her work on refugee health education, and Pamela Aselton, Gabrielle P. Abelard, Linda A. Lewandowski, Raeann LeBlanc, Clare Lamontagne, and Lori Anne Lyne were responsible for a poster on The Integration of Mental Health Competencies into a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Curriculum.
