WUN: Culture, Migration and Adaptation in a Rapidly Changing World

Following on a successful Symposium in 2017, the Center partnered with the World Universities Network (WUN) again in 2018 to organize the Understanding Cultures Global Challenge Symposium on “Culture, Migration and Adaptation in a Rapidly Changing World” Perth, Australia.

The symposium addressed issues of cultural dynamics and consequences of migration and globalization. Using examples from the past and present the participants discussed cultural adaptation, change and the role of culture in a rapidly changing world through two focused sessions:

  • one focused on archaeology and heritage in the context of rock art and the importance of maritime history, and
  • the second focused on the issues of migration.
