Here we go!

My name is Jesse Trzpit and I am a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where I received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees. I entered into my Masters program as a Noyce Fellow, a prestigious program that is partnered with the National Science Foundation to “Support STEM Teaching and Learning through Community.” It’s been a whirlwind of just over a year from when I first entered the Noyce Program! A home grown, Western Massachusetts native, I recently moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with my fiance to explore a new part of the country. The culture is much different from what I was expecting. Charlotte is a true melting pot with residents coming from from all over the northeast and mid west areas of our country. I received a job offer to teach high school chemistry from Hopewell High School in Huntersville, North Carolina and am settling in nicely with the faculty and staff here. We are currently just days into the second semester of the year and we’ve already had an early release and two snow days on account of wintery weather; the amount of snow was minimal and the reaction is received was something I am clearly not used to. All in all this begins my journey into the blogging world as a part of my partnership with the Umass Noyce program. I hope you all enjoy.
