Center for Clinical and Translational Science: Community Engagement and Research Symposium

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the UMass Medical School, Worcester, has issued a call for breakout sessions proposals for its Community Engagement and Research Symposium to be held on March 9, 2018.

Theme suggestions for these sessions include: health disparities, underserved populations, patient-centered communication, community clinic partnerships, social media, environmental health, obtaining funding, methods and tools for community engaged research, specific diseases or conditions, prevention, health promotion, implementation and dissemination research.

The goal of the symposium is to build our shared capacity to address health issues in communities throughout Massachusetts by creating opportunities for people to:                                                                             – Network                                                                                                                 – Learn more about each other’s work and interests                                     – Make connections and plan for future collaborative work

Possible formats include:                                                                                   – Panel Discussion                                                                                                 – Training/Workshop                                                                                             – Presentation of Research Results

Proposals should be submitted via email by Thursday, November 30 to communityengagement@umassmed.edu with the following information:                                                                                                        – Title of the breakout session                                                                          – Name(s) and affiliation of moderator(s)                                                      – List of breakout session presenters with email/phone details                      – Background and purpose of the breakout session                                        – Anticipated format, including a description of how you will interact with the audience.
