3.1 Week 3 Introduction

media production on 3.1Welcome to Week 3! This week, our goal is to design a digital media product (e.g., video, image, infographic, podcast, meme) that we can incorporate in our classrooms. First, we will take a look at copyright and creative commons to understand our legal possibilities and limitations. Then, we will go through the pre-production process, which will help us organize our ideas and articulate the goals of our digital media design. As we organize our goals, we will also take a look at accessibility issues to ensure that as many people as possible can access our material. Then, we will jump right into designing our digital media product! Lastly, we will ask you to reflect on your design process on Twitter using the #digmediacourse hashtag.

Week 3 Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to strategically organize and plan the production of a digital media product.
  • Participants will be able to identify and address accessibility issues in their digital media products.
  • Participants will create at least one digital media product that is designed to enhance student learning.

We would like to know how we can improve your learning experience with this course. Before you move on to the Week 3 content, we would greatly appreciate it if you could fill out the Mid-Course Evaluation Form below and share any suggestions you have for improving this course. We are especially interested in learning how we might improve the feedback that we provide on Twitter using the #digmediacourse hashtag.
