Torrey Trust, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Learning Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research and teaching focus on the use of technology to empower students and teachers as learners.

Chris Gaudreau is the Learning Technologist at Bay Path University. He works with faculty, staff and students to prepare them to use technology successfully in the classroom. He is currently pursuing his M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at the University of Massachusetts.

Jeromie Whalen is Technology Educator at Northampton High School, Communications Director for NASE Northampton, and Vice President of Northampton Community Television Board of Directors. Whalen works closely with educational non-profits in his community to enhance student learning through local projects and events.

Weiyang Liu is a graduate student studying in Learning, Media and Technology M.Ed. Program at UMass Amherst. She has a M.S. degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from University of Rochester and one-year Chinese as Foreign Language teaching experience in Rochester, NY. During her teaching, she made pedagogical connections between Web 2.0 tools and classroom teaching.

Allison Malinowski is a 7th – 9th grade History and Global Studies teacher at the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA. She has her M.Ed from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently pursuing her Ph.D at UMass in the Teacher Education and School Improvement program. Her interest is in teaching with technology and how technology is used in schools to support student and teachers.

Maria Afzal is a graduate student in Learning Technologies program at University of Massachusetts . She holds a B.S (Hons) in Computer Science and a Masters in Multimedia Arts . She also works as a Technology Consultant at University of Massachusetts .

Lauren Foss Goodman holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from UMass Amherst. She is the author of the novel “A Heart Beating Hard,” and is currently completing her M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at UMass. Lauren teaches at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and works as an Educational Technology Consultant at UMass Amherst. Her favorite digital media tool is Google Docs for writing, sharing, and collaborating.

Emrah Pektas is pursuing a master’s degree at University of Massachusetts and Learning, Media & Technology is his major. He is contributing to the group of Learning Activities in the OOC in the course of Educational Web Design, Creation & Evaluation . He also worked in an primary school as a classroom teacher in Turkey. He is interested in becoming an expert in educational technology.

Justin Eck: 12 year English Language Arts public school teacher, grades 6-12. He is in his 2nd year as co-director of the Western MA. Writing Project and is completing his M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at UMass. He is passionate about learning and teaching the internal and external influences of multiliteracies.

Mario Valdebenito is a passionate digital animator who graduated with High Honors from the Universidad Mayor, Chile. Mario has experience in several fields as a motion graphics designer, e-learning designer, book trailers creator, and TV series animator. Now in the United States, Mario is pursuing a M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Christopher Saccardo is a substitute teacher for Holyoke and Amherst Public Schools. He works with grades k-12 and is deeply invested in urban education reform. He is currently pursuing his M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at the University of Massachusetts. After graduation he plans to teach in New York City and then work to close the achievement gap present in the country.

Her current research is on “The role of technology as a means of development in schools: Comparative study of pre-service secondary teachers perspectives on how they are prepared to integrate digital media in their classroom in Amherst and Malawi government schools.
