Jamieson Training
The Fablab maintains an Jamieson CMA Laser Cutter. The laser cutter should be thought of as a plotter. It cuts two ways: Vector or Raster cutting. Vector based cutting follows lines, circles, etc. Raster based cutting is used with digital images.

Tutorial for using SmartCarve Software to prep files for the laser cutter
Preparing to Cut
- Create a compatible file — Prep your files in Rhino or Autocad using cut, score, and perforate layers. Separate layers so that the laser cutter will cut out interior curves first and an exterior outline last.
- Configure your file using SmartCarve
- Check recommendations for Laser Cutter Speed and Power Settings
