What did you do as an intern at this organization?
I assisted my supervisors on social media projects and helped in maintaining and establishing client social media presences on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
What did you enjoy most about your internship?
I enjoyed learning how a small public relations firm worked and loved getting to learn about social media marketing and management.
What did you find challenging about your internship?
The most challenging thing about my internship was assuming somebody else’s voice. For example, all of the social media posts had to cater to each of the client’s audiences and followers so I had to learn more about each of the clients to try and make the content sound real and relatable and from the actual client.
What skills did you develop through this internship?
I was able to work on my time management skills a lot during this internship. It was a very fast-paced environment and my supervisors would give me a lot of different work on top of my daily assignments so I was able to practice working on things as they would pop up, much like a real work environment is compared to a school environment.
What advice would you offer to someone who is considering this internship?
Have an open mind! Be outgoing and creative! The more you can think outside of the box, the better!
