I enjoyed learning about the ins and outs of a legislative office. Additionally, the Senate Office of Education and Civic Engagement arranged for various guest speakers to address the interns, which was incredibly inspiring and eye-opening.

Sometimes it was difficult to remain fully engaged, as database entry could be fairly monotonous.

I honed my research skills by preparing legislative briefings on pertinent issues.

What advice would you offer to someone who is considering this internship?

While it can be somewhat slow, it’s a worthwhile experience, especially if you’re interested in state government!
