What did you do as an intern at this organization?

I helped student directors realize their television show visions by assisting them in every aspect along the way, which included casting, graphics, sound, lighting, props, and stage design.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?

I enjoyed helping turn these creative ideas into real digital products that can be a strong asset to any aspiring film/television student.

What did you find challenging about your internship?

Setting up the stages and the lighting for each director’s unique style, tone, and intended message. Though this was challenging, it forced me to break out of the traditional lighting styles and get creative.

What skills did you develop through this internship?

Managing a tv studio, working with all types of people, and drawing out small and large details that accentuate the theme of each project.

What advice would you offer to someone who is considering this internship? 

Definitely take it! This experience is one of a kind, it really allows you to understand what it’s like to work in a multitude of positions in the film/tv industry, and it’s a fantastic boost to any resume.

What did you do as an intern at this organization?

I mainly advised any students on a wide variety of University processes during open office hours, but I also organized an alumni panel and will be on the hiring committee for next year’s peer advisors.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?

I really enjoyed the positive feedback I got from the alumni panel, and the turnout of about 50 students.

What did you find challenging about your internship?

Sometimes it’s easy to tell that a student isn’t taking you seriously just for the mere fact that you’re also a student, but that can’t really be helped.

What skills did you develop through this internship?

I’ve definitely gotten the chance to hone some responsibility, interpersonal, and accountability skills.

My internship was on the UMass Campus in Amherst, MA.

How did you get to your internship every day?

I either took the bus or walked.

 

What did you do as an intern at this organization?

I advised fellow students during office hours and via email. I wrote departmental blogs, hosted Comm events, and spoke at open houses.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?

I love working with other student and answering their questions.

What did you find challenging about your internship?

I found it difficult learning new requirements I was unaware of.

What skills did you develop through this internship?

I developed interpersonal skills, advising skills, professional skills, public speaking skills, blog writing and brochure design skills, event planning skills and so on.

What advice would you offer to someone who is considering this internship?

I would absolutely apply for it! It is such a unique internship and is a talking point that many interviewers have brought up to me from my resume!
